Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk to you again

It's terrible! The Simon and Garfunkel concert that I was supposed to go see, was cancelled!! :O Garfunkel is sick and the paper said it's going to take time for him to get better i guess. It's sad though, I was really looking forward to seeing them. Oh well, at least i get to see the Script in October. They're a fairly new band; an Irish rock band that's just getting on its feet. I love their music and listen to their album all the time. ;) Anyway, so one of my friends told me about this awesome website that sells vintage stuff that's pretty inexpensive. I literally started screaming in excitement. Hhaha i know, trust me to start screaming about vintage clothing from the 40s and 60s. Well, that's all i really had to say....yup, pretty lame post, but whatever.
Peace and love,
B

Summer Breeze

I don't know what it is, but summer always gets me into the hippie mood. I mean, I'm a hippie all year 'round and all, but there's just something about summer that makes me all excited about the 60s all over again. :) Maybe it's because of the Summer of Love and because of Woodstock, but I don't know. All I can say is that, there's only 8 more days of school and I say, Bring on the lovin' and bring on the MUSIC!!!! hehehe
ok, toodles

Sweet Baby James ♥

Bonjour mon petite amies ;P
So last night I attended the afore mentioned James Taylor and Carol King concert. It was..............wow. I can't think of words that could describe it. The both of them were so funny; they teased one another and interacted somewhat with the crowd. It was like we were all sitting in a backyard or a family room or something; like a bunch of friends. The music was fantabulous, as was to be expected. :D They played lots of well known songs and some that I'd never heard before. One of my new favorites is the lullaby that James wrote for his first-born nephew; the song that resulted in his nickname: Sweet Baby James. I kept waiting for him to sing Fire and Rain, and when he finally did, I actually started crying becuase here was James Taylor, singing it live.....it was so amazing and beautiful, and.....I don't know, like a dream come true I guess. The duets between Carol and James were beautiful and somewhat melancholy, but still moving. Anyway, I had an amazing time, and I wish that everyone that loves them could have seen them last night.
PeAcE!

You Can't Say We Never Tried

A beautiful classic. It's rather haunting, especially when Mick Jagger whispers "Angie". This is one of my favorites by the Stones. I know this is actually from the 70s, but the Stones were originally a 60s band....plus as I am a hippie, I am declaring this a hippie song..haha. ;)

Rock 'n' Roll

Hey peeps,
so tonight I went to this absolutely amazing play. As you probably guessed by the title, the play was about the 1960s, at least partially. The plot highlighted upon the importance of rock and roll in the division of Czechoslovakia and its release from communist control in the late 80s. The plot was amazing and interesting, if a bit dense at times. The best part of the play was definitely the music. This production wasn't a musical, but there was short clips of music during scene changes, etc. There was so many amazing songs that I'd never heard  before. One f these was Golden Hair by Syd Barret. This specific song played a large part in the plot of the play.

this song is so haunting and beautiful :0

the Velvet Underground, this is another amazing song that was in the show. :P
